<Enter> on dir in treeview doesn't open dir

Hi. I am currently running TC7.01 under Windows 2000, and I seem to have encountered this bug:

I had a disk treeview in the left panel, with selected dirs (dirs which i press ENTER on) opening in right panel. As configured also, the tree was fully loaded at once (= fully expanded).

Then i moved the cursor down the tree, pressing ENTER on each to see its content in the other panel. I was using only the keyboard, so it went like: Arrow Down - Enter - Arrow Down - Enter - etc.

BUG: A few apparently random directories wouldn't load, and the previous content of the right panel would just stay on, no matter what it was. The next dir would load normally, but if i went back on the faulty one, it just would not open.

Solution: I grabbed the mouse, went back up in the tree and double-clicked on the parent directory, then in the right panel (detailed view), i would open the faulty directory. Then it would open, and after that, it would load normally from the tree too, at last.

I don't believe the keyboard/mouse switching has anything to do with it, but i wanted to be as accurate as possible. Do you need additional informations on my system, and if any, which ?

Oh, yes, it might be consistent to mention that i was browsing a (mapped) local network drive, as most of my drives are.

(I am sorry i have not made some cross-diagnosis with different methods and contexts. I don't really have time to spend on this minor bug. But i have tried to describe the context of its occurence as detailedly as i could so somebody who might want to diagnose it well would have a clear place to start from)

Note: My system is a rather old install of Windows 2000. I don't remember when, but it was before SP4. Of course I have updated to SP4 and up to the last update from update.microsoft.com . I don't believe this is important but i might as well tell

You may update to the latest TC version (7.02a) !

A lot of bugs got fixed meanwhile, related to the separate tree.

Have you ever considered unselecting the option "Configuration" -> "Display" -> "Tree" -> "Tree: Press ENTER to open dir in other window" ?

Anyway - I haven't been able to reproduce what you describe - have done a lot of Arrow Down - Enter's trying to.

Yes I might try ver 7.02a next time. (I have registered anyway)

I was indeed using the oldstyle in-panel treeview. I only found out after the new ones afterwards.

Did you try it on a network drive too? I have noticed several minor glitches about network drive operation, although i'm not sure whether they are TC's or the system's fault. (As a domestic rule, I always suspect Winblows first :)

I suppose your suggestion about config doesn't apply to the old-style trees ? (i don't see how it could if i want to keep arrow-downing/entering my way through. but i'll try out the new ones next time)

I'm really not used to browsing trees. Usually i hate them in Windows applications. This was the first time i came to find them pretty handy, and for once i was really glad to have them. Just for blabling's sake.
