The cm_SwitchLongNames command

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

The cm_SwitchLongNames command

Post by *sasha1024 »

I added to the TC's toolbar a button that should switch 8.3-names on/off (the cm_SwitchLongNames command).
But when I press the button, nothing happens, just a beep.
BTW, button is always in "pressed state".

P.S.: Near it I added cm_SwitchHidSys, it works fine.

Hm, 'cm_SwitchLongNames' works fine here as a button (Win XP).

Both cm_Switch83Names and cm_SwitchLongNames works fine here too when used in the buton bar.

Maybe you have misspelled the command

sasha1024,
Perhaps you have disabled 8.3 names in Windows?

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Hm... actually... After restarting TC it works fine.

I could't restart it before this moment (I was downloading a large amount of data from a very-low-bandwidth ftp). I tried only to remove-and-re-add the button several times (not helped). But after restarting TC it works fine.

O, now I understood.
The button doesn't work (just makes a beep) when you are having some operation performing in background (e.g. downloading from ftp, copying files).
Sorry.
