require move option in sync

Post by *cnnnc »

I sync the two dirs and select the files I like to move them to other dir,
but there is no a move option, there is only the copy option.
So that I have to delete the files in orginal dir after sync.
This is very inconvenient.
So I suggest add a move option in sync.

1) Move Left - Selected Files
2) Move Right - Selected Files

Hi, cnnnc.

Eugen supported your request and briefly elaborated how he would like the feature to be implemented.
So at this point in time the synchronisation dialogue does not offer any "move" operation.

(From my limited point of view "moving" defeats the meaning of the term "synchronisation", because in the end the left and the right folder tree will still be different, only in a different way.)

Yes, you'll be allrights.

My motivations are:
- It's possible to not have enought space in one destination.
- Sometimes I would like to move few subdirectories to another location, without leave sync tool, as an exception, because I don't want to lose content of those directories by deleting files. Now I must exit sync tool, than I move the sub-directories and I must re-sync structure.
Of course, the last situation is not very often.
My Best Wishes,

Eugen
