ShellDetails 1.26 (Content plug-in)

Hi Lefteous,
I've been using the Sysinternals 'streams' utility to identify any files on my PC that have the zone identifier ads set (the prompt you get when you try to run a file you download from the internet):
http://blog.case.edu/bes7/2008/04/21/removing_security_warning_on_files_downloaded_with_firefox_30
It's a slow process due to the number of files I have to manually fix. What I was hoping to do was to - in Total Commander - do a search for the zone.identifier ads, have TC display all the matches in a search window, and at least then I would be able to operate on each one, one at a time, instead of first having to navigate the hard drive to find each file that streams has identified as having that particular ads...

You may use the "NTFS stream" content plugin for using with TC search.
Have a look at thread "Generic" Plugin for NTFS stream for details.

There's a new Nirsoft tool called Alternate Stream View that lets you find and remove ADStreams very fast and easy.
I know you've covered this a million times...
but I'm still getting weird results with the TortoiseSVN integration. I had 1 success and 2 failures. Here's what I did:
On my Japanese XP Pro computer at work, I have TortoiseSVN installed.
I installed the plugin and changed the TC config (right click and icon overlay) as directed. I edited the C:\windows\ShellDetails.ini file and added the two lines you indicated (changing the path to point to my SVN project). Then I restarted TC.
When I right click on a file in the project, I got the Windows context menu, but without the Tortoise options.
When I tried creating a custom column view in TC, first all the columns were listed in Japanese, which I cannot read. But second, none of them looked like Tortoise columns.
First PC was a failure.
So I ran a virtual machine using English WinXP Pro. In it, I installed TortoiseSVN, rebooted, and confirmed that it could see my project.
Then I installed the plugin and followed the exact same setup steps as above. When I restarted TC and right clicked the file, there was the Tortoise options in the context menu!
Second PC was a success.
Now I am at home where I have Japanese Windows Vista 64bit, but I've downloaded the English language pack so most things are in English.
I already had Tortoise installed, so I just added the plugin and tried again. No Tortoise options.
3rd PC was another failure.
Is it the fact that the two failed computers are natively Japanese Windows that screws things up? I tried copying the INI file from the English PC to the Japanese PC (a file comparison showed that only the names had been translated), but that had no effect.
Can you think of something I can try? I really want the context menu to work in TC, because I freaking hate Windows Explorer.

Hi,
first of all please consider that my plug-in doesn't add the context menu to TC. ShellDetails allows you to add columns displayed in Explorer also in TC.

My plugin uses the operation system language for column names.first all the columns were listed in Japanese, which I cannot read
My plugin currently doesn't support Vista for columns added by shell extensions. This applies for example to TortoiseSVN.at home where I have Japanese Windows Vista 64bit
You have to install the 32 bit version of TortoiseSVN to make the context menu entries work in TC.I really want the context menu to work in TC
Ah, that is something I suspected but could not be sure of from the documentation. Thanks for confirming!Lefteous wrote:first of all please consider that my plug-in doesn't add the context menu to TC. ShellDetails allows you to add columns displayed in Explorer also in TC.
Yeah, that was my assumption. I mentioned it so you'd know I am not native Japanese, despite my username. I figured that was important in case you asked me to translate something. My plugin uses the operation system language for column names.

Excellent! I did this and it worked. Thanks so much!My plugin currently doesn't support Vista ...

Now I just have to figure out how to make this work in the office, where I already have 32-bit Tortoise on my 32-bit XP Pro (JP). Since this is not related to ShellDetails, I will have to look elsewhere. Sorry to bother you with this.

FYI
Two of the example links on your website (CAD Explorer and PixVue) seem to be extinct.
Shame, since I was hoping to find out more about CAD Explorer. I have a need to view CAD files, and print them, without actually having to edit them.

Hello Naruki
CadXplorer is not extinct, but sadly not more developed since Version 1.0 from 2003. But It still works for AutoCAD Version 2006 - but there is no print function in it.
If you want to print a file use "DWGTRueview", free from http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?id=6703438&siteID=123112&DCMP=ILC-DWG-PUV . Or you take a look at "Batchprint" at http://www.cadsofttools.com/en/products/batchprint.html .
