Vista bug - edit inside a zip file

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Unfortunately there is no debug function for your specific problem, sorry. Process monitor could show you whether TC tries to load wcmzip32.dll, or fails to do so.

you should use FileMon ( http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896642.aspx ), too. Maybe you can see if there is a file operation failing.

thanks for the info, I tried to look for wcmzip32.dll, and it is fine (loaded)
I looked at failed io and got a bunch of them, sent them to TC - author

thanks

Problem Solved!
I noticed that it happen only on some folders (many of them but only some) - the same zip copied to a diffreent folder wil work.

I opened the propertiy (right click menu) dialog on one of the folders, and saw that attributes field, has "read only" (only applied to files in the folder) - which is strange cause I can copy files to that folder, or even into the zip files on that folder, for some reason only the copy back (from temp) after edit is not working,
anyway I unchecked that, and it is working now!!

any explanations why only edit is not working?
