change directory menu problem in wine

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

change directory menu problem in wine

Post by *jom »

The change directory menu (CTRL-D) is one of the features I use the most.

However there is a problem under wine in linux. When I press CTRL-D, the menu appears as expected, and I can use the cursor keys to select the directory I want to change to. However if I press the first letter of the directory name, then the menu disappears, and it does not change directory.

I can confirm the problem.
A workaround is to assign an accelerator (& character) to the directory.

This is indeed a bug of the menu implementation in Wine. It just behaves differently from Windows, which jumps to next line starting with that character when there is no accelerator defined.
