So, until the format limit is upped, the image plugin will show most image files I should ever come across, right? Once the image limit is expanded (IF that ever happens), then it would make more sense to move to XnView. I never even heard of a lot of the XnV extensions.
NOTE TO SELF: I need to get out more.

Neither IV nor XnV open their windows. TC uses WM_SEND (or something like that) to get thumbs / preview from them and shows it within lister.
From user's point of view there is no sign of XnV activity other than looking into process manager while the call is being made. XnV is started hidden in the background and closed almost right away. Its process stays only for the time of sending preview data back to TC. On my PC it's not even a second for most of the images I have.

The reason I asked is I don't need two image viewers so I was wondering what those that have used both for a while thought. A public opinion consensus, if you will.

Again, great minds think alike. I installed version 1.04 earlier and upgraded to 1.05 when I read about that version. I grabbed the Unicode version as there are 2 versions of 1.05. I also saw you were on the board. It didn't take me long to grab it after seeing your name there.
So far I am impressed with it. There are a few quirks with it. It needs to center the image in the Quick View pane instead of having it at the upper left. But other than that, so far so good.

Lister has always centered images before I installed the Imagine plugin. What was weird is if I opened the options in Imagine and saved the settings, the image would be centered until I closed it and re-opened it. Then it would be back up to the top left. Hopefully it'll stay now that Lister is set.

That is because Imagine checks lister settings when started.
IIRC in the past users were complaining because Imagine ignored lister, so author fixed it. Standalone Imagine uses its own setting only but when used as plugin it prioritizes parent's ones.
