That could be the problem as I use Nitro PDF for displaying PDFs.

EDIT: OK, after installing Adobe Reader and checking the setting you described (it was set like that at default), now I can view PDFs in Lister. Adobe Reader seems to load a lot faster than Nitro PDF does.

Thank you, sir, for the help. ;)

Try PDF-XChange Viewer (installed with Explorer addon). It loads faster than Adobe here.

Would you suggest the portable version or the install version?

I suggest both.

I keep portable version within my TC folder and have it associated (internally, of course) with PDF files. This is great for USB but not good for explorer thumbnails or HTMLview use and that is why I have standard version installed system wide.

Since it was the successor to IEView, I assumed it could do everything that IEView could. So I just copied the non-HTML extensions from my IEView.ini into the HTML.ini and it worked.

Will you please post what those extensions are for those of us that don't have IEView installed?

HTMLExtensions=htm;html;shtml;plg;mht;xml;xsl;php;php2;php3;xhtml;pl;asp;htt;doc;.dot;.wbk;.wps;.xls;.csv;.ppt;

It doesn't even try to load a .pdf file though.

2robinsiebler,

Thank you, sir. ;)

You don't need to add the periods before each extension, though, do you?

And don't forget to add pdf to that. It loads PDF files fine for me after doing what fenix_productions suggested as well as adding pdf to that line.

I did it how you have it set up and it seems to be the best way to go. Thanks for the tip. ;)

I like how it shows the toolbars for the viewer in Lister, too.

Yes, you are right. I`m sorry. I beg your pardon. I was mistaken by the following sentence from the history of plugin "All non-html functionality removed".

Where you know about *.doc from? I cannot find not a one word about this possibility in readme. :? I have made some tests and surprised: htmlview can show *.pdf, but cannot *.djvu. Why? IeView can them both.
This is the line of my htmlview.ini, all working, even djvu

Wikipedia wrote:DjVu (pronounced déjà vu) is a computer file format designed primarily to store scanned documents, especially those containing a combination of text, line drawings, and photographs. It uses technologies such as image layer separation of text and background/images, progressive loading, arithmetic coding, and lossy compression for bitonal (monochrome) images. This allows for high-quality, readable images to be stored in a minimum of space, so that they can be made available on the web.

2dott,
That is the first time I have ever heard of that kind of file. I've never seen one either.

I'm not getting it to show in Lister, though. It shows fine in ACDSee.

In order to view DjVu files on IE→HTMLView you need to install DjVu Browser Plugin from celartem.

Never use ACDSee myself but I have use irfanview/xnview and the problem with this apps is that they treat the format as image instead of document.
For me(better to say for my use) DjVu is ≈like pdf.
