Thumbnail view different in left and right panels
I just noticed that the thumbnail view is different in each panel. The left panel has some spacing between the thumbnails whereas the right panel lacks spacing. Has anyone else noticed this?

Balanced here

Hello Bob !
• Strange, I don't get this here :
- Displaying the same folder of images in both panels, I get a balanced layout,
a 7-pixel spacing for all thumb nails, at right side and left as well…
- Thumb nail size = 88×88 pixels - Not any custom field… Single 17" CRT monitor
- Win XP-Pro SP1 - TC 7.5 RC1

Hello J-M. !
• You are right, the spacing changes following the width ratio.
- Illogically, since it's increased on the narrower side, and decreased on the wider one…
- I use rarely a ratio else than 50¦50, so I didn't notice that before…
• Same in 7.04a…

Guys, I have the width set a 50% (I use cm_50Percent, also). I always keep my panels at 50|50, that is why I noticed it. I made sure it was set right before I posted about this problem. No matter what directory I use in the right panel, it shows with no spacing. I am using a 22 wide-screen monitor (1680x1050) if that makes any difference.

An Update:
If I switch panels, or not, the right panel always has 8 thumbnails across while the left panel always has 7 thumbnails across. I have it set to the default 96x96 thumbnail size. Could it be an INI setting somewhere causing this?

2StickyNomad,
I hadn't tried that until you suggested it, but it still shows 7 across on the left on 8 across on the right with a fresh INI file. It must have something to do with the wide-screen (1680x1050) resoution. I can't think of what else could be causing it.

I think I have figured out what is going on. It is TC's fault, it seems. It does not like 96x96 thumbnails on 1680x1050 resolution. If I set the thumbnail size at 100x100, it changes automatically to 104x104 and they are the same on both sides then. The same thing happens if I set it to 88x88, both sides are the same. Can someone else with a widescreen monitor set it at 1680x1050 and set the thumbnail size to 96x96 (the default) to test it?

Hello, Boofo.
I do see the same thing which your screenshots illustrate.
Here the left panel displays 5 thumbnails per row, whereas the right panel displays 6 thumbnails per row.
As you state, changing the thumbnail size to 100x100 pixels and applying the setting will make the phenomemon disappear. Both panel display 5 thumbanils per row and the spacing is the same in both panels. And T.C. does change the thumbnail size to 104x104 pixels.
Windows XP Prof SP2, 32bit
Total Commander 7.50 RC1
Thumbnail size is 96 x 96
Monitor: 19 inch, resolution: 1280x1024
Kind regards,
Karl

2karlchen,
Thank you for verifying that, sir.
Would you consider this a bug, then? You tested it on a regular monitor, right, not a widescreen?

2karlchen,
That might be to make the spacing uniform. I would think it should stay at what it is set to, though. But, at least, I know it isn't just me now.
Hopefully, Christian will see this.
