Now that Lister has Unicode capabilities, the only difference is with the Navigator now, right? That, and lister has the other options you took out.

UV has few more options but, for me, the main difference is in licencing: it is freeware.
Standalone lister is free too but it is not updated so often as built-in one. Even if you can invoke internal lister via proper parameter in commandline you need to have whole TC which is shareware. For some users it might be the reason to not use such solution (not for us, TC geeks, though).
One more thing: UV code is mostly open while lister's - not.

2fenix_productions,
So you use the freeware version then, not the registered one?
You make some good arguments there. I might have to start using it more and see what it is all about.

I am using it rarely so free version is all I need. On the other side: I have my own TC key and lister is perfect for me.Boofo wrote:So you use the freeware version then, not the registered one?
But I know few other people who don't even like TC. They need good "all in one" viewer and that is why I advice them using UV. If any other viewer could additionally use IrfanView/XnView AND lister plugins I could recommend it then but I am not aware of any.
UV licensing is perfect for many people. Its configurability is very good. All features together make me sure that if I use it more I would buy its licence.

2Alextp,
The Unicode difference you can take off the list now, I think. But, yes, there are other advantages, so I will be sending you an email, again.
The one thing I don't like about the Navigator is it being a separate window. I liked it better when it hooked into the other window as it looked like it belonged there better. I can't make the Navigator and the main window both full size together, next to one another. It is either or.

There is the "View" -> "Dock to viewer" option, but it doesn't really dock to the Viewer it just aligns the two windows next to each other.
A real docking would make the two windows act as one, so that you can move both windows at once, and focus both windows at once.

2Alextp,
The way it is now reminds me of how ESET NOD32 used to be. I never did get used to that. Isn't there any way to can have it real dock like it used to?

2Alextp,
Right, you did. But you will probably end up hearing what they heard about it until they changed it. The older way (the way you did it before) was much better, in my opinion.
