Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Square brackets are not allowed in plugin fields. Apparently the '[' character is the second byte of a double byte character here...

Isn't it a TC bug that the double bytes character is parsed byte by byte to ckeck if a square bracket is contained?

The plugin string handling isn't currently double-byte-safe, that's why you get this warning when square bracket characters are found.

Current version 1.21
A new version is ready for download.

I have finally reproduced and fixed the corrupted field name problem in the ANSI version. Please note that corrupted fiield names are not corrected automatically. If you have corrupted field names you'll have to delete Shelldetails.ini before updating. If you have set other settings backup them first.

The complete list of changes can be viewed online.

I asked ghisler(Author) to update the version on his homepage to the current version but he faced some problems when installing and also when the problem.

Has anyone else had similar problems?

I just updated my version from 1.20 to 1.21 and got no errors installing. Also the usage gave no problems. I use it to show IPTC info of my photos in custom columns.

Thanks for your reply :-)
I hope ghisler(author) reconsiders his decision.

I had no problems with all older versions, so I really wonder why it is crashing here during installation. I have just tried again to install it, and got the crash again:
1. Press ENTER on shelldetails 1.21 archive file
2. Confirm installation
3. Try to go one directory up -> Crash in plugin ShellDetails.wdx: Stack overflow

I just updated my version from 1.12 to 1.21 and everything works fine. Just clicked on archive and installed the plugin. No problems detected so far.

- Windows XP SP3
- TC 7.50a final and 7.51 beta pre (ongoging work)
- too many to list, in that column I use only tc and dirsizecalc plugin besides shelldetails
- two: [=shelldetails.Eigentümer] and [=shelldetails.Autor]
- 5.6k

Btw, I just tried with just ShellDetails and DirSizeCalc installed, and then I didn't get any error. I wonder what is causing a stack overflow in ShellDetails then...

Thanks for all these information!
- Number of fields in shelldetails
- Shelldetails.ini size
I ment the number of available fields not just those in this certain custom column view? Could you please send me your shelldetails.ini by email?

Could you please try the standard shell extension one by one deactivation procedure using ShellExView and maybe even send me your ShellExView export file?
