list of folder tabs

Post by *jacques »

Hello,

I´m using folder tabs quite extensively and over the time I have well over 15 of them.

I order to switch to some tab, currently I have to use the left or right scroll buttons, and since the tab I want to switch to is always on the opposite side of the tab list (Murphys law), this is quite cumbersome.

In order to switch quickly between the tabs I would like to have a drop-down-list to choose from, like the one in firefox.

Christian, could this be added?

Hello :)

A switch button like the one in FireFox is a good idea, support++

To get rid of scroll buttons, go to Configuration> Folder Tabs page> choose "Tabs on multiple lines" or "All tabs have same width"

Support, it would be great to have drop-down tabs list.

Even though I do not use such a list in Firefox, I think for TC this is a great idea. At the moment I have to point at every tab using the mouse to see its full path if I want to find the correct tab and have many open.

Not only a master tab list (good idea)...

...but also a customizable panel that appears when mousing over each tab (a la FireFox) would be fantastic.

In some ways TC folders tabs are great, in other ways they are very clumsy and could well endure enhancement...

JohnFredC,

I don't have any such thing in Firefox.

I have also wanted to have the tab list, and I wrote this script. Now it's that I can't live without...

Sorry, that was confusing!

Reparsing:
  • A customizable panel...

that appears (a la Firefox) when mousing over each tab...
Screenshot here.

You are correct that the Firefox version is not customizable. But in TC I would dispense with the preview and add some stats.

JohnFredC,
Well, I do not have any panel when mousing over a tab in Firefox, neither customizable nor otherwise.

your TabTools are looking promising. I will check them out at home.
But I am sure that our IT guys at work will not install third party tools on production machines. It was hard enough to convince them to install TC.

therefor, on the long term, I would prefer a built-in dropdown-list for tabs

Hi Henrie... yes turns out you are right. I haven't messed with my Firefox config in so long that I completely forgot it was a plugin.

That's one of the good things about the Firefox plug-in architecture.
