TC doesn't unload uwdx when trying to install a new version

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

TC doesn't unload uwdx when trying to install a new version

Post by *Lefteous »

TC doesn't unload uwdx plugins when trying to install a new version of the plugin.

This may also affect other plugin types like file system or Luster plugins but I haven't tested it.

Strange, there should be no difference between wdx and uwdx. Did you directly specify the uwdx in the pluginst.inf file?

No. I did the following:

1. An older DirSizeCalc version was installed on a machine.
2. A custom column was set up to display size values.
3. I downloaded an installed version 2.11.
4. While installing TC displayed an error message that the uwdx plugin file can not be overwritten or something like that.

I could easily reproduce also when installing 2.11 over an existing 2.11 installation.

I have just tried that, with 2.11 installed and used in a custom columns view. The new version installed without problems.

It sounds like shellexview was somehow reloaded after TC unloaded it, but before the new version was installed. Can you install the update if you switch to full view before trying to do the installation?
