"Overwrite all older" not working when packing to

Post by *rarva »

I suppose I am trying to clarify my understanding of how the zip packer should work when I select "Overwrite all older".

From my experience, when trying to update files in a zip file, files with exactly the same timestamp are also being zipped again.

This doesn't sound correct to me... Any comments?

I cannot reproduce that, I have just tested it. My guess is that the timestamps differ slighly, maybe because of the daylight saving time change? Then they would differ by exactly one hour. There is an option in the configuration to ignore such a difference of exactly one hour.

Thanks for the response.

Is there a log of what was actually zipped?

:) Hello !
Is there a log of what was actually zipped?
• When packing file¦s, that operation can be logged whether you have set :
Configuration >> Options >> Log File >> [×] Create a log file:______[Choose the file name] [>>] Location
which will create a log text file (UTF-8 with TC 7.5…).

Thanks Clo, but that doesn't really match what I am trying to achieve. I change the setting you suggested but the log file only captures that the zip file was accessed but it doesn’t say which files were zipped into it…

:) Hello !

• Indeed, only the packings previously made in TC are logged …
- I you mean a way to get all existing ZIPs (coming from anywhere) logged with their contents, there is not…
… at least as a built-in function.
