ftp performance

It seems that performance on ftp (without MODE Z!) is worse than transfer performance on smb share.

I copy a large file (5gb) and the results are the following. CPU is at 100% while copying.

FTP: 12mb/s
SMB: 40mb/s

It would be nice if ftp performance could be improved.

2Nemesis: Are you sure you have searched the forum for an answer (e.g. ftp speed) and tried all hints without success ?
Which UploadBlockSize value do you use ?
