Bug - TC6.01 background copy shows progress above 100%

Post by *slon »

It looks like a bug for me - when I copied multiple folders from CD to HDD and clicked "background", header in small progress window shows percentage above 100%. This counter initialy resets to 0% after each file is copied, but in the middle of disk it stopped to do it and the rest of files and folders shows progress above 100%. I have a print screen with 133% progress, but I do not have a site to upload it. If anyone can give me a place to upload this small picture (~8k jpeg) I will do it.

:) Hi!
I just made a quick test under Win98 SE from a CD >> HD, I didn't notice
this problem...
:( But the progress-bar seems too short a bit, I never see "100%", that ends at 99% or so... I already told that to the Author, some centuries ago
Please, tell me with which OS you had the problem
:D Friendly,
Clo

:) Hi again!

I tested with XP-Pro / NTFS / since I've not Win2000.... I copied a whole CD to the HD (that took a while, even with a 2-CPU at 1.45 GHz / 1 GB -DD RAM...)
That CD contains 593.5 MB, in 11 directories (various sizes, from 1.7 up to 511 MB) + 9 files in the root.
  • I lauched the copying, and pressed the "Background" button immediatly.
I went to see the copy progression on the desktop:
All was normal, the percent counter didn'd overflow...
About the too short progression-bar, it's worse with XP: the bar is full at 95%...
If you have a registered TC, I advise you to ask for the Author's opinion (via E-mail...) and to append this test in the mail...

:) Friendly,
Clo

Hello there,

this ">100%"-topic had been discussed several times in the forum already, as far as I know.

Try to use search function to find the threats.

Best regards

 Hello Pete,
Sorry if that bothers you, but it's normal to test for the same issue with the newest TC version...
:) OK for the >100%, but I'm astonished a bit to see a too short progression-bar still: I indicated this to the Author when this feature (Background copy) has been added ...
8) Regards,
Clo

Unfortunately I haven't been able to reproduce the >100% problem with TC 6.01 yet! How big were the files which you copied? Were they all in the root, or in several subdirs?

Hello Clo,

do not be sorry, and it does not bother me.

You are right. I was not thinking about newest version of TC.
But I thought Christian has corrected this "error" with TC 6.0.

And now we talk about a ">100%" as well as a "100%copied 99% or so indicated" problem :)

None of them have I with TC 6.01. But I am not copying huge amount of files or GBytes either.

Anyway, have a nice day

Christain,

I to have the progress bar problem in TC 6.01. I use WinXP and I tried to copy 3 files of about 60MB each. Around 94% that is where the bar reaches the end.

Each of these files were in a seperate dir. I also tried it with a bunch of files form CD to HDD and there it also happened.

Need any more info?

Regards,

Roland
