Couldn't reproduce. Do you have a way to reproduce it?

I don't like that the new version (2.0.0) runs an extra process that consumes a lot of memory. I'll stick with 1.6.0 for that reason. Maybe you can add a link to this version in you first post so that users can download it.

There is no disadvantage if you disable the gui. It still works the same.
tcmatch.exe is for the gui only, so tcmatch.dll is not bigger now.

You may still use the gui to change the options by calling tcmatch.exe.
It will close afterwards and free all that precious memory. ;-)

If like me you dislike the gui, you can edit tcmatch.ini (version 2.0) in order todisable or enable online_gui .

Code: Select all

[gui]
override_search=0
invert_result=0
one_line_gui=0
#one_line_gui=1
You can also add a button on tc bar to launch tcmatch.exe and have on demand gui !

I do not care about memory but more about having this BIG button bar showing up even if i will not use it in 80% of the time. A thiny one button window that show the bar is for me a better option.....

In the version 2.0.1 there will be an option to disable the preset section of the gui. (then you could have a slim gui)
I dont know when I find time to publish it, because the content plugin tab needs some time to create. (I started already)

I tried to reproduce it, but I couldnt.
1) Did disabling the gui help? (override_search=0)
2) Can you post your "tcmatch.ini"?
3) Do you have TC installed on the stick?
It doesn't always occur.I don't install TC on the stick.
Here is my "tcmatch.ini" content:

Code: Select all

[general]
simple_search_activate_char=
regex_search_activate_char=?
leven_search_activate_char=<
preset_activate_char=>
simple_search_match_beginning_activate_char=^
and_separator_char=" "
or_separator_char=|
wdx_separator_char=/
negate_char=!
case_sensitive=0
allow_empty_result=1
filter_files_and_folders=3
match_beginning=0
use_pinyin=1
srch_activate_char=*
[wdx]
debug_output=1
wdx_cache=1000
[gui]
override_search=1
invert_result=0
one_line_gui=1

Sorry but I cannot imagine how tcmatch could block it with this settings. (no wdx plugins and filter_files_and_folders=3)

Tell me if you find a way to reproduce.
As a workaround closing the process should work. (or restarting TC)

Updated first post: Version 2.0.1 is available.

Code: Select all

Version 2.0.1
 - Reworked the readme (formulations (especially for content plugins), translated forgotten text to German, created German images)
 - Added customization of content plugins to the user interface
 - Added language dropdown to user interface
 - Added: the additional user interface may now hide the preset dropdown
 - Added tooltips to the additional user interface
 - Fixed: It’s now possible to store "tcmatch.ini" in "UTF16 LE" instead of ANSI (thanks to AHK_L)
 - Fixed: the additional user interface closes when TC is minimized to tray
 - Fixed: the user interface is closed if TC is not running
It took so long because of customization of content plugins to the user interface.
This should solve almost all suggestions and bugs you reported.

When I run tcmatch.exe of v2.0.1, there's a TC msgbox saying "Error executing program!".
Did this happen to anyone else?
