Whoa - fabulous! This has come a long way since my last trying it out, fantastic job!

Ok, that was Syn 0.7, so it's been a while...

This is just great.

2 suggestions (or actually, 1 bug report and 1 suggestion/request):

(I have Read-only at startup "On")

1) When I open a standard text file, it is set as ANSI (autodetected?). If I change encoding (ANSI->UTF8), it nicely remembers this when closing (Esc) and re-opening the file. File isn't touched. Good thing.
Now I reopen, and again change to ANSI. Then unlock the file (in status bar), change to UTF-8, make a space or something in the file and delete it again, enabling me to also save the file. I do, and close.
Now reopen. Unlock again. File is UTF-8 - and it can no longer be changed back to ANSI. I suspect autodetect keeps it in its current format, as UTF-8 BOM (Byte Order Mark) has been added to the start of the file - you cannot see it in Syn2, but it is visible in the other Lister modes. But you should really be able to change back to ANSI, removing the BOM.

2) As the UTF-8 is with BOM, would it be possible to also add a "UTF-8 (no BOM)" option to the list of possible charsets? This mode is rather important - editing HTML-pages in UTF-8 is normally without BOM as most web servers has problems with files starting with the BOM. Same goes for what I spend quite a bit of time on - translating Mozilla files; these are likewise UTF-8 without BOM.

Don't know if this is relevant, but for the sake of completeness:
I'm using Windows XP pro SP3, danish language.
If you need any other information, do not hesitate to ask.

Heh I don't even know what that is, but have a nice vacation.

It's not that big an issue at all - I have Notepad++ on F4 anyway, so if I have to click the keylock or press Esc and F4 doesn't make all that big of a difference. I'd just like an editor directly in Lister, but have done without for a long time and can continue to do so. ;)

New icons looks good so far. There are only 2 things:

1. Icon "select_all" sits a bit higher than icon "selection_delete".
2. As I can see the icons transparent background has another color than the gray buttonbar. I see a colored frame at icons slightly. Maybe this depends on operating system. Newer Windows Versions works better with transparency.

Anyway the new icons give Syn2 a modern fresh look!

I use free icon editor IcoFX (http://icofx.ro)
16-bit icons are not supported. Don't know if 16-bit icons are really existing. But I can convert to 24-bit and 8-bit. Unfortunatley only 32-bit icons has alpha channel for transparency. The result after downconverting is that icons looks no longer smooth. Some lines are completely missing. To get acceptable results most icons have to be completey redesigned. I have send you an email with examples. Maybe we can adapt transparent layer color to the buttonbar color. But i'm not sure how to do that.

Don't know if this is exactly what you want. I have resized some icons from 16x16 to 24x24 and sent to your email.
