Time in MULTI-RENAME tool shows a 12 hour difference
Hi all,
Problem:
When using the MULTI-RENAME tool on a file ("aa.txt"),
using the mask:
[N]_[hm]
will always show my local time, plus 12 hours.
Example:
right now, my PC shows my correct Local Time.
It's 1:45 in the morning here!.
Yet, the MULTI-RENAME tool
applied to file: "aa.txt",
will show this:
aa_1345.txt (1:45 PM = wrong! ahead by 12 hours!)
instead of the correct:
aa_0145.txt (correct - since it's 1:45 AM here...)
Help! How do I correct this?

Works fine here too:
1.45am is inserted as 0145
1.45pm is inserted as 1345
This is tested with "Configuration" -> "Options..." -> "Tabstops" -> "Use 12 hour AM/PM format"
Testet both with Danish (24 hour) and English (USA) 12 hour setting of my Windows.
NOTICE: it is the time of the file's time attribute that is inserted - not the current time on your computer!

Sorry, cannot reproduce either. As described in the help:
[h] Paste hours, always in 24 hour 2 digit format
so the setting of 12/24 hour display doesn't matter.

Ah!
OK - the key to the solution
was given by petermad (tak Peter!).
He pointed out correctly that:
"it is the time of the file's time attribute that is inserted by the MRT",
(not the PC local time, as I assumed wrongly!)
Although it would be nice to be able to easily
TIME & DATE stamp any file/s in TC...any ideas for doing that?
Thanks ALL!

Ah, thanks for the clarification! The current time could be pasted with a content plugin, maybe someone knows one already? Otherwise I will add it to my sample plugin, it wouldn't be very hard.

so, can the CURRENT (local PC) TIME and/or DATE
be added to the MRT as:
- a plugin or even
- as a native MRT feature?
That would be great!
Ghisler? Lefteous? Anybody?

You may have missed my response above?
And, just to be sure:
of course you can insert current date and time just as plain text by hand.
Or paste this from the clipboard, where a third party tool (like an AHK script) has copied it right before.
Not nifty, but it works.
But such standards should be provided within the tc-plugin?! Ghisler?
Hi Stefan,
Yes, I did follow the separate thread
which you pointed out in your previous post,
(and Danke Stefan!)
But that thread is somewhat hard to follow, (well, to me at least!).
The 2 gentlemen in that thread are discussing why their solution doesn't work...in small fragments and snippets of code. Hard to understand...
Would somebody care to summarize the solution,
(if it really works),
in easy steps - so that it can be easily implemented in MRT?
Or maybe a Plug-in?
Thanks,
SFdude
