Removing the Main Menu

Post by *Aezay »

I remember a thread, where someone wrote how to hide the main menu, but I can't find it by searching.
Then I tried to set Config -> Language -> Main Menu to an empty MNU file, but that didn't work, beacuse it still displays the Start menu.
So my question is how do you hide/remove the main menu?
Of all the planets I've been to, this one is my favorite.

:D Hi!
Wha! This is a good question to Christian Ghisler, I think!
 I didn't find any command having "hide" something in the file <totalcmd.inc>
:P But since I'm optimistic, I go to draw an icon for this!
Hoping for a positive reply...
Friendly,
Claude

Then I must have had a dream, because I remember a thread where someone told how to remove the main menu.
The thing is that I rarely uses the main menu, only keyboard shortcuts, so I would like to simplify the look of TotalCmd some more.

 Here is how you can remove the main menu:
[1]. Create an empty .mnu file, and select the same in Language tab sheet of the configuration Page.
[2] Remove all the user created menu entries in the wincmd.ini file (i.e remove complete [user] hive/section)
[3] Add RestrictInterface=1 In the wincmd.ini file.

Restart TC ....You should see a denuded TC...

Maybe Christian may consider to include this on TC so that we will be able to hide/show main menu bar with a keyboard shortcut. :D :D :D

Happy 2k4 for all TC fans.
