The icons aren't wihin TC, they are in a so-called system icon image list. I don't know why the tortoise icons cannot be located.

I have the same problem here with Windows 7 (64bits). Can it be because of the 64bits?
I use another program that produces overlay icons (DropBox) and they are perfectly handled by TC.

Yes, you need to install both the 64- AND 32-bit version of Trotoise in parallel, to different directories, as recommended by the makers of Tortoise SVN.

It should be sufficient to install the 32-bit version and 64-bit version to different directories. Maybe you don't have overlay icons enabled in Total Commander? It's in Configuration - Options - Icons.
