Disconnect USB devices

Post by *Jqn »

Hi,
I've a USB flash memory pen. TC show it like a "removable disk".

But when I need to extract it, it must be disconnected before.
And TC right button option "extract" not work.
I need to select it from system tray arrow icon (opened by windows).

It would be very useful to do it from TC.

I don't think he has any problems disconnecting his pen. He just wants to be able to do it from within Total Commander.

:D Hello!
¤ I'd a look to the sas2000's text and asked for a translation to my (beautiful) next-door (she-)neighbour...
* There is something to enable like: "Optimize the quick extraction" in the Properties sheet of the removable USB-stick or similar, in the Tray icons...
¤ Needs to restart the PC...
:?: May be it's possible then to operate directly from TC?
:( I can't test actually, because my USB-stick is at my @†^! (censured) son's!
:) Please, could you test this? It should be handy to have this function in TC...
Friendly regards,
Clo

:D Hi!
 I got again my USB-stick, and tested the "Eject" entry from the local menu of TC for this drive...
 Yes, Leif is right, that doesn't work (unfortunately). We have to use the Windows feature from the Tray icon, up to obtain the big "bubble" allowing to remove the device; when it's displayed, the stick-icon has disappeared yet.
:?: Certainly an useful feature; a request to Ch. Ghisler?
:) Best regards, friendly,
Clo

Thanks you for spanish explain. It is exactly what I do to extract it.
But is'nt the problem.
I want to do it from TC's functions, without using systray.

Yes. This it is the problem.
From TC all removable (and CDROM, DVD...) disks can be extracted but these USB devices are not allowed.

Probably it is a future TC development.
