Quick Search (with Filter) side effects

Post by *RADiCAL »

Hi.

I use the Quick Search with the filter (CTRL+S) option. I also unticked both checkboxes in the "Exact name match" section (Options -> Quick Search).

When I'm within a folder that has both "di" & "dri" strings in one of the folder names, I do the following:
1. CTRL+ALT pressed (quick search).
2. Press "d" & then "r". So far so good: the results are filtered & the "Search" window shows "dr".
3. When I release CTRL+ALT & press "i", the result is that the "Search" window shows "di". The "i" replaced the "r".

In another scenario, when I only have "dri" matching, if I repeat the same steps, on step 3 when I type "i" for the first time, nothing is typed in the "Search" window. The second key press is working properly.

At first I thought it had something to do with timing or fast typing, but then I noticed it happened with delay between the types.

Thanks for your report, I can indeed reproduce the error. Personally I'm using letters - with search dialog, which doesn't show this strange error. I will try to find the reason.

10x.
Did u also reproduce the second issue ?
I assume they both result from the same cause.

I haven't tried the second one yet, sorry, but it seems to be the same problem.
