[8.0ß1] CD does not work in FTP

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[8.0ß1] CD does not work in FTP

Post by *Flint »

1. Connect to FTP.
2. Type "cd somedir" in command line (where "somedir" is a name of some directory present in the current FTP dir) and press Enter.
3. TC displays the "Drive not found" dialog.

TC 8.0β1 x32, WinXP SP3 x32.

Hi, Flint.

Hm, cannot confirm your report. Seems to work fine here.

Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit)
Total Commander 8.0 beta1 64-bit
Total Commander 8.0 beta1 32-bit

Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 (32-bit)
Total Commander 8.0 beta1 32-bit

Target FTP servers: HP-UX 11.23 or higher

Cheers,
Karl

Ah, I found the source of the problem. I redefined "cd" command as alias to "em_cd" (which executes the same "cd" command). It seems, TC does not allow EM-commands to work with FTP…

Not confirmed either - are you sure that the ftp panel is the active panel? Otherwise TC will try to change the directory locally.

As I wrote above, my report wasincorrect. Not "cd" command fails to work, but em_cd which is defined as "cd %A". If I remove the alias, then standard "cd" command works fine.

Whould I post a new report for this issue, or better edit the first message by adding this new information?

I see - indeed internal commands don't work with FTP, sorry.
