[TC8b12 x64] Keyboard problem?

Post by *marso »

On my Acer Aspire laptop (Win7 sp1) the combination <Fn>+<F8> is used for Speaker toggle.
It seems to be disabled when TC8b12 is in focus. It works perfectly when other applications are in focus.
Other functions keep working (brightness up/down <Fn>+<left/right>, volume up/down <Fn>+<up/down>, Bluetooth toggle <Fn>+<F3>).

Seems to be related to this post.

Hello, marso.

I know that you have reported the problem and stated that it affects Total Commander 8.0ß12 64-bit.

Yet, as I use an Acer as well, though just an Acer Aspire One D260, I would like to mention that the speaker toggle <Fn><F8> is fully functional when Total Commander 8.0ß12 32-bit has got the focus.

Kind regards,
Karl

TC8 beta 12 is no longer reacting to any speaker controls, neither with nor without the option MediaRemote=1 in wincmd.ini.

Maybe you need to reboot to make it work again.

Hello, Christian.

Should this thread not be moved to the "Solved Bugs" section or to the English forum or wherever.
The O.P. has not followed up on it for a month now. The bug has never been reproduced and confirmed.

Kind regards,
Karl

I think I may confirm this bug. See bugreport "[8.0ß16-x64] Multimedia buttons are sent twice"
The thing is that Mute button is toggled two times, so it seems, that it doesn't work.
Other functions keep working (brightness up/down <Fn>+<left/right>, volume up/down <Fn>+<up/down>, Bluetooth toggle <Fn>+<F3>).
Volume up/down buttons work but they change volume twice as fast. Brightness and Bluetooth buttons are not multimedia buttons, so they are not affected.

Hi, I believe this is the same issue as http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=33253 so I confirm a fix in 8.0ß17.

I didn't do any follow-up because I really had nothing new to say.
Thanks to umbra for confirming I'm not entirely dumb and for pinpointing the problem.
And of course thanks to Christian Ghisler for his constant outstanding work!

Fixed for me too in 8.0β17. Now it can be moved to "Solved Bugs" section!
