MirandaFS: cannot edit messages

Post by *Thany »

I finally found out how the hell this plugin is supposed to work, but I can't edit messages. The database is no longer in readonly mode (it took a while before I found that as well..) and after editing something, it just says "Error uploading file!" and the filename, being <nickname>.txt in the temp dir. I'm not getting a proper/useful error message.

My gut feeling is that this plugin deperately needs an update. Not just a rework, but a thorough compatibility check. A lot of updates to Miranda have been released since this plugin was last updated.

Other suggestions: make it work like zip. Just "open" a database dat-file like a zip and work it like that. I was scratching my head over why it kept opening my dat file externally. I was scrtching my head further over the explanation "To start working with profile (*.dat) just drag (or copy) it on plugin's panel." What panel??

Also, the options to things are too well hidden, make it clearer what's where.

Sorry for posting this here btw, this might not be the right place, but I though this'd be the best place. Alex Skalozub created this plugin, so I hope he hangs around on this forum.

It seems like 6 years since last update. I threw away any hope for this plugin long ago (although I still have old Miranda databases just to view with it).

That's quite some time ago :)
I guess I'll have to find some other way of editing my Miranda database then. Thanks anyway :)
