Storing old passwords?

Post by *dep »

Hello. I'm wondering how Total Commander stores passwords to network drives? The problem is, I change my password on our company's network, Total Commander tries the old password multiple times when it tries to connect to a network drive and then I get locked out of my company's system because of the invalid password attempts...

Anyway, is there a way to clear this cache? Or just a way to keep this from happening? I'd appreciate any help.

I tried the scenario at my home network. Apparently is the problem Windows.

When I access a netshare only through netneighborhood, and then change teh password WinXP ignores it , i.e. I still can browse through the netshare without being asked for the new password.

When I remove the netshare and readd it with a new password, WinXP can't access the netshare (through netneighborhood) but still don't ask me for the new password.
If I try to connect a networkdrive at this netshare I'm asked for the password but Xp can't connect the drive.
I have to Logoff and Logon again - then I'm asked for the password and can access the netshare again ( also in netneighborhood).

When I access the netshare only with a networkdrive then it works fine.
I connect the share to netdrive 'Z'. I remove the netshare and readd it with new password. I cannot access the netdrive. I disconnect the netdrive and try to connect again. XP asks for the password and establishes the connection.

So maybe the connect via netdrive will be a solution to you.
