Hide items on homescreen and some suggestions

Post by *TheFalcon »

First I would like to say I'm sure Total Commander will be my favorite file browser for Android. But I have few suggestions.

I would like to have the ability to hide some items, like 'downloaded items' or 'photos' on home screen.

And my external SD card isn't showing on the home-screen. That's a disappointment.

Also the interface exploring looks better in Xplore I think(like windows explorer). You get expand view when you click a folder, for example 'C/Music/Rock'.
In TC you only see the folder you are in, and not the expanded view (folder path above).

It hasn't have to be this way, but if I could change it in the options that would be great! I couldnt upload photos to make my self clear.

Hope you will do something with my suggestion, thanks!

You cannot hide them, but you can assign a different location to them (like your second SD card). Just hold your finger on it until the context menu appears.

I see. I know I can't hide them, but could there a option added for hide?
I don't want to see bookmarks, file root system, photos, installed apps and 'add plugins'. So when I hold with my finger I can choose in context menu to hide.

And external SD should be shown by default I think (with SD logo) :p

The problem is: When you hide it, there is no more place to show it...

Unfortunately Android doesn't have a concept of "external SD card". Therefore each manufacturer puts it somewhere else in the file system. There is no Andoid function to find out where it is. Maybe it could be done by reading the /etc/fstab file, but this may not work on all devices.

Hmm ok

I thought it would work because Xplore showed external SD by default.
Also in Xplore this is how hide/show items works. Here are some screens.

when you tap show

But thanks for feedback!
