Detection string editor

Post by *SPeller »

Hi All!

I think it will be very useful to add a tool to the TC, which will easily edit DetectionString which TC passes to a lister-plugin and which is written in wincmd.ini as "X_detect="..."". When many plugins installed, TC waits long time while every plugin think - is this file valid for him, or not. Plus, small count of plugin-makers adds GetDetectionString function to his plugins.

PS: Sorry for my English.

I don't think that it is the job of the user to change the plugin string. Maybe I should change TC so plugins without a detect string will not work? :)

It may be an "Advanced function" with its own cm_xxx command. Only for advanced users who want to make order in thier plugins and insist plugins to work as they want.

Hmm :) I (and many others) will stop using TC ))

You can add your own detection string for each plugin that miss it.

I know. But I must write long poem about editing detection string in the wincmd.ini inside readme of my plugin. I implemented the GetDetectionString in my plugin, but I don't know what user will want to pass to plugin and I must tell him how to edit this string. Ofcourse, instruction of using standard dialog is easiest than instruction of manual editing.
