hi there, first post on this forum. first of all - congrats to Mr. Ghisler for creating and developing such a wonderful application, I truly admire your work
anyway, I'd like to ask if there's a plugin that's dedicated to tag editing (v 2.3 support)?
#2 using a wdx plugin I don't know of a plugin that does that
search here http://www.totalcmd.net/directory/content.html
from the main menu select file->change attributes ...
see the help file.
hey, thanks for the reply, I've installed Multimedia Factory but I can't listen to mp3s since. When pressing CTRL+Q on a mp3 file, the plugin shows in the other panel, any way to give the default preview a higher priority?
try F3 to load lister in a separate window, as for loading priority you need to configure lister plugins,
from Preferences->plugins->Lister Plugins Click Configure
use the arrow keys to move lister plugins up or down, the higher plugins get loaded first, you need to hit the #4 key to load the next plugins, unfortunately some plugins use/lock the keys so you need to use your mouse (from the view menu select options->4 Image/Multimedia) and that's unavailable in quick view.
thanks again for the reply.
I do know I can move plugins up and down to get the desired loading order but is there a way to force TC to use the internal lister BEFORE the installed plugins? I mean if I had no multimedia factory plugin installed, I'd be able to listen to mp3s both in lister window and in quick view. With Multimedia Factory installed, it always loads first.
Is there a setting, perhaps in wincmd.ini, to force TC to load the default (listening) viewing method first? What I'd like to achieve is play mp3 files upon hitting f3 and then edit tags when hitting #4 in lister. Reverse order that is.

You could add "BmpStartup=0" to "[Lister]" section of your wincmd.ini. It would do exactly what you are asking for. Except, for anything else than music/video, the Lister would show only a binary data by default - you would have to always press '4' to enable plugins. So it's not exactly an ideal solution.

thanks, already tried that but it's not what I'm looking for, I guess for the time being, I'll have to make use of iana's suggestions
