SynWrite (Syn2)

Greetings.
Well ... it will (in my opinion) make SyW better (in several ways)
when SyW does not make ALL the open file text "visible" to the system.
No other sytax editors (I have seen) make ALL the open file text visible ...
I rarely use WordWrap.
Sometimes I turn on WordWrap briefly but always turn it off again.
So, it seems to me SyW should not have excessive CPU usage caused by the WordWrap calculation.
If WW calculates even when WW is disabled, then maybe you could tweak SyW so
there is no WW calculation when WW is disabled ... ???

Hello
mine is not good in English ......
I would like to open Synwrite via badge in different folders. If I now my provided text file store away it should happen in the topical folder. With some other applications I put than start parameter one (.) one.
How does it function with Synwrite?
Greeting from Berlin

Hallo

EXELBONSAI wants to open SynWrite with different working directories (using a button on TC's button bar) so that upon saving the edited file the working directory (start path) is set already and doesn't need to be changed manually. I hope my English is more understandable
.
Having translated EXELBONSAI's wish I still don't get where the problem is. This button works fine:The dot in the working directory doesn't seem to be necessary as TC sets the working dir upon "launching the button". The button still works fine if %P%N is used in the parameters field.
But maybe I have missed the point.
Regards
Dalai

Code: Select all
TOTALCMD#BAR#DATA
"D:\Programme\Total Commander\Plugins\Syn2\Syn.exe"
D:\Programme\Total Commander\Plugins\Syn2\Syn.exe
.

But maybe I have missed the point.

Hi EXELBONSAI,
why using a button? I use SynWrite without button in TC buttonbar. First set SynWrite as editor in TC configuration. After that you can press Shift+F4 in any directory. Enter a name for a new to be created file. SynWrite creates your new file and you only need to press Ctrl+S for saving it.

Greetings.
So I have been anticipating a new SyW release to check out the CPU usage issue.
Yesterday I downloaded 81592 and noticed that the SyW CPU usage does seem lower/better -
(but still higher than all other syneditors that I use ...)
I am / have been also wondering how to configure/customize/control the options under &File/&New ...
There are many filetypes that I do not want/need and other filetypes that I want to have there ...
Under &File/Recen&t the menu item &Clear list conflicts with the MRU item &C(whatever) ...
Maybe you could remove the &C from &Clear list,
since Clear list is always at the bottom and ease to reach with 1 up arrow keystroke after the menu opens ... ???

Syw then activates the first tab & then the new last tab ...
and still gives error messages when doing the next Ctrl-W too soon/quickly ...
OK ... "got it" ... thanks ... for everything ...Alextp wrote:New files: open File- New- "Browse template folder"
This problem is still with us ... especially when closing the last tab ...Alextp wrote:Pressing Ctrl-w (fast) now may show "Assert failure" msg. it normal. It not fixed yet

Greetings.
I find it better / more ergonomic to keep my hands on the keyboard instead of using the KB then mouse then KB then ...
My Ctrl-W closes only the current tab.
The xx button closes all tabs.
The x button closes the current tab ... but still gives error messages ...
Anyway, ... (in my opinion) the &f, &w &B hotkeys under /&File/&New conflict with the new file options under F, W & B ...
All the &hotkeys on the Edit macros popup conflict with the Assign/Shortcut box ...
When I hit Alt-Shift-C while in the Shortcut box, Alt-C (for close) still fires (and closes the popup!) but should not fire ...
I hit A-S-C not Alt-C! ...
It seems I cannot directly edit/tweak the SynMacros.ini ...
The Select macro command has an &OK button, but Alt-O does not fire ... (Alt-C for &Cancel does fire, however ...)
Maybe on the Edit macros popup you could add a "Repeat/Add last command button"?
Maybe you could also add Move Up/Down buttons for "sorting/arranging" the macros?
I know moving them with the mouse is possible ...

Well, I am a keyboard/hotkey junkie ...Alextp wrote:-Ctrl-W too soon/quickly ...
Ye:not fixed yet. As a solution i suggest to use XX btn near Help menu.
