It would be great if there would be a checkbox to hide or show equal lines. This would allow us to see only the summary of changes.

The problem is that this would conflict with the compare file editor.

Maybe just disable the option of editing while the equal lines are hidden - and vice-versa disable the the hiding of equal lines during editing.

Just like petermad said or somehow limit editing to single lines (but petermad's sugggestion is easier to implement).

The editing feature is already disabled for files larger than 2GB.
So disabling on request shouldn't be a problem I think.
