Forget what I just wrote... Somehow the upgrade from 5.5 to 6.0 unchecked the "Unpack path names if stored with files" option. My fault. Should have examined the obvious before writing a bug report.

Sorry,

It works fine here!

WinXP Pro SP1a, TC 6.02b3

No Lister plugins installed though!

This is a known limitation, because all files are currently unpacked to the same temporary directory. This is done so the system isn't cluttered with hundreds of temp directories.
Sounds like something that needs to be fixed/added, Christian. Most people think well-behaved programs should clean up after themselves. Maybe an option to have TC clean up/out its temp directories and files on exit.

Probably too late to fix that now...maybe in v6.03 or v6.04.

Oh, and good job with the new additions and features. I really think you are taking Total Commander in the right direction. :D

Sir_SiLvA,
what the ehck is the difference between:
LockedTabChange and TabEnterDirChange
Yes, that was a sort of puzzle at first to me, too, LockedTabChange applies to all changes of a dir (Ctrl-D for instance) and TabEnterDirChange to the ones by Enter or double-click only.

BTW, quoting Christian,
Please use this thread only for BUG reports for beta 3
Christian, I told you confusion would arise... ;)

In wincmd.ini, I've set a line under the Configuration section like this:
Noreread=ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ\/:
But when I switch tabs, TC still will reread the contents in the active tab.

I think switching tabs is different to changing directory, so IMHO TC shouldn't reread the content in the active tab.

I installed TC 6.02 beta 3 into a new folder and I selected the option to place the INI files into the program folder (didn't actually select anything, it was the default selection) and the install copied my current .INI files from my original folder across into the new folder (nice) but it didn't copy my key file across.

Not really a bug, just an observation.

Normal !

Post by *Clo »

:)  Hi !
...it didn't copy my key file across...
• It's quite normal ! There is no provision for this. When you have a first trial version, you have no key yet; hence that should need an extra dialog with choice-boxes to add in the installation process.
• It could be a fine feature, but it doesn't exist yet...
• So, you have to copy/move your registration key by hand currently, that isn't a hard job

Different behavior when double clicking link file:
open \\desktop,double click CloneCD.lnk, nothing happen. I can view it's property by pressing alt+enter, but when I press F3, alert window"file not found" appears(even I unload all plugins). Of course this link file works fine in exploer. acrobat link has same story. But most of link files on my desktop work normally.

Why LNK ?

Post by *Clo »

2slownet
:)   Hi !
• TC is NOT Explorer.
• Why do you want to use always *.LNK files to launch programs, while it's easier and handier to install simply a button in the button-bar to do this ?
- Just carry the *.EXE file on a free area of the bar keeping the left mouse button pressed; press too Shift or Alt, then loosen the key and the mouse-button : the program is on the bar with it's icon.
Please, browse the Help for more details >>> Drag & Drop Topic.
  Kind regards,
Claude

Why is the action "open folder in locked tab" still not possible although TWO(!) new confusing options LockedTabChange and TabEnterDirChange were invented?

So many great proposals were made regarding that matter, clicking on locked tab goes back to original folder for example...

I hope that this will be corrected on the way to the final version otherwise it would be really disppointing.

The beta-testers have proposed that, however, I doubt there will be any changes regarding this in 6.02 final.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
