hi,
did someone else notice already that renaming files is awfully slow?
If i jsut change the extension of a file it takes between 10 to 20 seconds ( is measured the time with a stopwatch... multiple times).
This is reproducible on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus on ANdroid 4.0.3 with TotalCommander 2.02beta1
Can someone confirm? Or is this known already?
thanks

Cannot confirm, it's almost instantaneous on my phone and Nexus 7.
1. How many files are in that folder (see top right)
2. Where is the file located? Internal memory? SD-Card?
3. Is the device rooted?
4. What file type?

Depends. I didn't find this relates to the time at all.ghisler(Author) wrote:Cannot confirm, it's almost instantaneous on my phone and Nexus 7.

I can rename a file in a "small" folder with only 7 files, or a picture in the Camera Folder. It will both take abnormal long, several seconds, to rename the file.

But its internal in Samsung Galaxy Nexus I9250 - cant be exchanged.
No - but i have to admit: it seems that it is an engineering device. We bought a handful of them for testing. I'll try to find someone with the same sw to confirm it is reproducible.ghisler(Author) wrote: 3. Is the device rooted?
Doesn't matter. Tried with PDF, JPG,...ghisler(Author) wrote: 4. What file type?
I'm really wondering why this takes so long on a high-end (well its not a galaxy s4, but i'm sure its at least "higher" end

I got another Motorola (maybe 2 - 2,5 years old already) on 2.2 or 2.3 and its as you describe it as "instant"...
Any idea what else could help you? If a logcat helps you, i could do that (if tc does put out anything on adb...).
I just tried to use Jumble Filemanager - it works instantly...
So it seems to be only TC on only my device...
