-search in files also as background process

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

-search in files also as background process

Post by *Nigurrath »

it seems like the new background search in file dialog (shift-alt-f7) and f7 doesn't share the same settings. it would be fine if it is so. I mean if I only select one checkmark on the type of strings in the f7 window I don't find it in shift-alt-f7. Also the results window could be a good idea to have it shared, just to handle the case
1. I start a search process in f7 and
2. when I realize it takes a long time I switch to shift-alt-f7 version
3. what I would like to see is the same parameters of the dialog and possibly the same "partial" list of results.

It does share the same settings, but it's the same as when you close and re-open the normal search dialog - most options are reset. But things like the various combobox histories are preserved.
