yep, i wanted to report this few days ago, but my registration to forums was not working.
anyways, i'm not sure it's win8.1 problem, it's something between as all other password fields in other apps are working great. so please, some workaround asap? pasting passwords is not good.
cause MS wont be fixing it like ever i think

Unfortunately this seems to be a new misfeature of Windows 8.1 - keyboard hooks don't seem to work correctly any more. TC uses a keyboard hook in that dialog so it can catch the typed keys before any other hook (e.g. from a password stealing worm) can catch them. I will try to find a solution when I can get my hands on Windows 8.1. I haven't received an install DVD from MSDN yet.

This has been fixed in beta 6, both 32-bit and 64-bit!
To everyone: Please test this if you have access to Windows 8.1! Just try to type in the master password dialog as described in the first post.

Great, thanks a lot! Which version did you check, 32-bit, 64-bit, or both?

Hi guys!
I had the same issue - I wasn't able to enter the FTP master password. It was possible to paste it from the clipboard only. I have tried to install the latest version of TC (8.50 b15 64bit), but it didn't solved the issue.
The only thing which solves it for me is to add "allowhook=0" to wcx_ftp.ini. I'm using 64bit Windows 7 Home Premium.
BTW I have another issue, which could be connected to the previous one. I open the drive change selectbox (e.g. ALT + F1), press down arrow key and next drive is immediately opened in a tab and selectbox is closed. I have been using different versions of TC on different systems for a couple of years and didn't experienced problem like that. Always I had to confirm my selection with ENTER key, which is behavior I expect. But on my new laptop (with almost the same software and versions, only hardware and drivers should be different), the drive is selected immediately so I can't do the selection with cursor keys, which is the way I got used. What could affect this?
I'm sorry of reusing this topic, but I have exhausted another ways.

If you want a response from Mr. Ghisler, explicitly address him personally, preferably while mentioning his name. You can also send him an email.ferenczy wrote:I'm sorry of reusing this topic, but I have exhausted another ways.
