The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

When using Shift+F6 and user enters existing dir with trailing \, warning is displayed.
When using F6 no warning is displayed.
TC8.50b1-11:
No warning if Shift+F6 or F6 is used.

Yes, this is an intentional change - when the user enters a backslash, it's clear that he refers to a directory. MoveToDirWarn remains for the case when the user doesn't enter a backslash.

Here is the entry from the history:
13.02.13 Fixed: Inplace rename: Do not warn about existing target directory if the user added a trailing backslash, e.g. target\ (32/64)
