Send installed apps by Bluetooth

Post by *Lusitano »

Is there a way to send an installed app by bluetooth, without root permission? I'm asking that because ES File Explorer allows it, and maybe TC allows it, but I can not find the option.

This depends on the target device: All Google devices like Nexus 7 seem to refuse APK files via Bluetooth for security reasons. However, I have no problems to send APK files to a Samsung and HTC phone.

How did you do this with ES? It doesn't work here either when it fails in TC. Can you give me step by step instructions?

I can not even send the application, it does not matter which phone. I long press the app and I have no option to share it or send it like with ES File Explorer. I know that Nexus devices do not accept apk by bluetooth :)

In Total Commander, please select the apk file by ticking its icon, and then click on the "Copy" button. In the copy dialog, choose "Send via Bluetooth".

Please answer my question: Please give me instructions how to send the apk with ES! It doesn't work here.

I just go to the application tool, and then select application and press share button, and I can choose Bluetooth as sending method.

Indeed, it doesn't work from the "app folder". But I can do it with a workaround, selecting the app in the appfolder, copy it to another folder and from there I can copy it via bluetooth. But why there is no way to copy it directly from the app folder ?

Ah, that's what you mean! The problem is that some files in the app folder can only be accessed with root rights, so they couldn't be sent directly.

But ES File Explorer can send those files without root rights.
