+Network Neighborhood long delay load if in Thumbnail View..

Post by *man0000 »

Hi,

Since 8.50 beta15, and now in RC, when you activate the Thumbnail View in a Tab with Network Neighborhood the Connect Dialog Box appears and you cannot do anything until dialog window closes. In beta14 and previous this doesn't happen.

Could anyone confirm/reproduce this behavior???

Thanks...

I will check it. It's probably because TC now supports thumbnails in virtual folders. The only solution would be to disable this feature. :(

Many Thanks...

I'll watch oout if you can sort it out in next releases.

If there is no solution , how can I disable this feature?

THANKS...

ghisler(Author),
Maybe some new option with flags enabling this feature in different places? E.g. desktop, libraries, virtual drives (like devices), network folders... If there is a way to distinguish them of course.

BTW I can reproduce it. I have Neighborhood in a separate subdir (NetHoodStyle=2) so the only items in \\ are some FS plugins and this Neighborhood one, and TC shows 'connecting' dialog. I think it tries to load thumb for Neighborhood item 'cause there can't be any thumbs for FS plugins.

I think also that you can easilly ignore thumb extraction for \\ and Neighborhood folder (i.e. for items that represent PCs).

Yes, FS plugins have nothing to do with the issue as I have the same behavior without any FS plugin installed.

You say I easily can ignore thumbs for \\ and Neighborhood. Could you tell me how, please?

Thanks...

Sorry it was only idea for Mr. Ghisler how to improve it.
Feature is new and your report is the first regarding it so you can't disable it in 8.50RC1.

Thanks! TC was trying to load thumbs for plugins and the "Reload" pseudo-file...
