I really welcome the new feature Drive drop-down list (Alt+F1/Alt+F2): Show links to "My Computer".
However, the last modification time (it is tc.writedate I think) of the files on copy/move operation is not preserved, though it would be the expected behaviour - as it is preserved in the case of normal drives.

1. Connect your Fuji Finepix S1600 camera to your computer.
2. Open Total Commander Alt+F1 - My Computer - 106_FUJI (or similar)
3. Copy an image to your hard drive
4. Note, that the file modification time is not preserved. Please also see this screenshot at h t t p : / / s 2 9 . p o s t i m g . o r g / w q g x 0 m t 0 7 / i m a g e . j p g, which is taken after copying DSCF6378.JPG to the hard drive (sorry, this site doesn't allow me to post links yet, and this is about the 10th way I try to trick it... just remove the spaces).
What makes it more interesting: if I do the same with my Xiaomi MI2 Android based phone, the file modification time is preserved, as expected.

TC doesn't copy by itself, it is done by Windows via OLE2. Unfortunately some devices do not provide a modification time - TC shows the creation time in this case. However, the Windows copy function doesn't know about this creation time, and doesn't copy it with the file.

IMO it is indeed a device-specific problem, I observe the same behaviour with my Canon Ixus 85.
The workaround I use to restore the correct dates after copying is to use Faststone viewer, which can change the file date to the EXIF date very quickly and batchwise.
Of course any other tool which can work with EXIF data is also possible, it can even be done with TC plugins. In my case Faststone is the fastest solution.
