i tried to select "root" in settings, but a toast popup says "device not rooted".
i´m on slimKAT 4.4.4 and this ROM is definitly rooted.
What´s wrong with TCAndroid?
(tested TCAndroid official from PlayStore and Beta2 from forum)

When you click "Root functions everywhere" in settings, TC tries to open a root shell with the "su" command. It seems that "su" isn't found or doesn't start. You can try to add a new button with type shell command, command set to su and parameters to something like ls to see what error is reported.
In general, TC needs an installed SuperSU or SuperUser to work in root mode.

BUT: unable to get access to root-folders.
tried to copy a file to /temp, but it don´t work. Copy-toast popped up fast, but no file was copied.

Please ask the Slimkat developers (if they have a forum). I haven't heared of any other Kitkat distributions where TC's root mode doesn't work.
