This is how I do it:
1) Install Ftp server (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.theolivetree.ftpserver&hl=en) on Android device
- Run Ftp server and you should see the IP address and the
login credentials
2) Run TC on your PC (both are on the same WiFi network) and
set up an ftp session with the details in 1). Once connected
you should see folders of your Android device in one panel.
Files can be transferred in both directions.

I think you should use 192.168.0.2:2221 instead of ftp://192.168.0.2:2221

The Pro version is without ads and it costs only $0.99 :)

In my opinion, you are looking at the wrong way of doing things. It's best to drive the file transfer from the PC end with TC. All you need is an ftp server running on your phone (Android or iOS).

I know this may offend some TC die hard fans (I'm actually one of them :), but TC for Android phone is simply too ugly and clunky. The same UI works perfectly under Windows doesn't always apply well to smaller screens. TC's UI is a good example for that. Have a look at the default Android file manager app (mine called Document), even its UI works better than TC. If you want something better, take a look at File Manager (File Explorer by Cheetah Mobile). It has many features including an ftp server. I think it shows how a mobile file manager should look like.

How about using my Wifi plugin?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ghisler.tcplugins.wifitransfer

You can select some folders in TC for android and tap on copy button, then choose "via Wifi".

Then you can either scan the QR code with a Web CAM, or enter the address manually in a Web browser.

The integration in TC for Windows is via WebDAV plugin:
https://plugins.ghisler.com/fsplugins/webdav.zip

You can scan the QR code if your PC has a web cam, or enter the URL manually.

Best Tool for wireless transfer between PC and Android, imo, is LENOVO ShareIt!. Never seen a faster Tool. Shortcut inside TCforAndroid to the destination folder of ShareIt and it works perfectly.

What it does?
It opens a direct wifi-connection between pc and android, so the file transfer is very very fast.

You can use AirDroid for this.
Just install the app on the Android and start on the PC the web page http://web.airdroid.com/
It runs free without any limits on the same WAN
and is much easier to handle than ShareIt.

But the Transfer-Speed is horrible..it´s not only a question of Wireless-LAN Quality ;-)
For me, airdroid is too big, too many functions. ShareIT its only for transfer and it works very fast.
