How un-attendant new and/or silent new installation?

The install.exe is now in front of the install data. In previous versions, the data was unzipped to TEMP, and then install.exe was launched from there. In the new installer, install.exe runs directly and reads the data from its own file. That's why you need to pack with compression rate set to 0.

I keep my TC downloads unpacked (so that I can easily access the README etc.) and I just noticed that 8.52 is missing the INSTALL.EXE file

For anyone who is stuck with this like me, you can still use the old INSTALL.EXE files to install 8.52. That's what I do now, since it's the only way to keep the installation files working when unpacked

That is also what I did.
After some tries to extract the executable code from the fat installer I give up and use the install.exe from v8.0 that still working.

It is ok to repack everything back to the fat installer after any customization, but for my scripting needs I find it easier to leave the files extracted

Hi, sorry but either we are not getting the how to, or the repacking does not work.

Could someone create a step-by-step guide for it?

The sfxhead should be put into the cab where it is by start, or?
If I choose to repack everything as zip with 0 compression +sfx it will be a simple sfx and the installer does not start.

It look simple, but yet it is not working. 8.52 installer was used.
