Can't open files on phone when connected as media device.

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Can't open files on phone when connected as media device.

I can't open files with anything. Not even lister. Neither duble clicking, nor dropping on a toolbar button works. It seems to me that a broken path is passed.

I don't know if it's even possible. But if it isn't TC should display a warning that it isn't possible. And not try to pass something to software that doesn't work.

Sadly it's not possible - there are no functions to read data directly from virtual folders, they have to be copied to the PC first.

I see.
So then I guess TC could avoid passing a broken filepath to programs on the buttonbar, and display a notification instead. And display a more useful error instead of "search path not found" when pressing F3.

Or perhaps offer to copy it similarly to files in an archive.

Actually there are some programs like the Windows photo viewer which download a file from a device to show it. But this seems to work on ENTER only.

In my experienc ALL files are downloaded when I press enter. (if the extension is associated with a program) That's why I only mentioned the buttonbar and F3.

I thought it was TC's doing, but I guess it might be windows'.
