Please make close button on tabs
Please make close button on tabs to quickly close inactive tabs without svitching on them, currenly this needs right click and selection.
Middle click is not clear from the first look
Its inappropriate for so basic function, in front of the program appearance
Middle click is not easy for everyone to click, if you are on a 2-button mouse, or on a track pad, or have a tough fingers which rotate the wheel instead of click (my old mother), or have conflicting program (in my case Listary)
Everyone can be on trackpad and do not middle click, also its tough to choose from a menu on a trackpad!
Its not that right point where Tc can differs from other programs which all have this close button, which most people find usual and wandering not to have ability to turn this button on here

Where you are most often and likely see tabs?
In your browser. Browsers all have close button
Windows tab control is not for displaying variable content, but for the pages of fixed options. So there is no cluttered tab environments in this case.
File manager panels is not an options panels, it is for browsing the content of the file system. So the purpose and behavior of tabs is far more complex than in standard windows control. this needs to add different ways and functions to manipulate them.
Close button is a basic thing to manipulate the content browser tab, so there should be no miss.
Try to remove the all the close buttons from your browser tabs
Close your browser tabs with middle click! Not so funny!

I feel for you. Well, I try to, but it's hard with stuff like 2-button mouse. I know they exist, I've seen a few, but not exactly in use in this century. Or that killer argument about browser tabs without close button. Just imagine it, the horror! Although it would probably get to me more, if I didn't get rid of exactly those buttons as soon as they were first introduced, because I couldn't live with so much wasted space.
But in all seriousness, you're probably right, tabs with close buttons could be useful for some people. I'm sure you wouldn't be the only one by far, who would appreciate if they were added. So as long as they're optional, good luck with your request.

I haven't used 2-button mouse for almost 20 years and don't understand why such mice exist today, and I don't understand why one should use 2-button mouse when most of them have at least 3 buttons (almost any mouse with a wheel supports wheel click).
BTW closing tabs with right click is much faster than pointing small close buttons... Even more, I always install gesture addon into browser and close tabs with simple L-gesture (after old good Opera I just can't imagine my browser w/o gestures).
I'm always remove close buttons on my browser's tabs for saving valuable space for tab titles. And I would definitely disable close buttons on TC tabs for the same reason.paravion wrote:Try to remove the all the close buttons from your browser tabs

Forget about 2-button mouse. Every time you experience this behavior novadays, when you are on trackpad.I haven't used 2-button mouse for almost 20 years
Luckily you are a geek, but other people not.I'm always remove close buttons on my browser's tabs for saving valuable space for tab titles.

Remember, this discussion is for having a possibility to enable close buttons on tabs.
That's OK, but you didn't write that it should be an option in you.r primary postinghaving a possibility to enable close buttons on tabs

No because as already explained above.paravion wrote:Is it nobody interested in such a usable feature?
You have Double click, Midle Mouse button and Context menu.
Double click is much faster for me than trying to hit a small x

TC is optimized for operation via keyboard. Close buttons on tabs would only be useful for those who use the mouse in TC, but my guess is that the majority of TC users don't use the mouse in TC, at least for closing tabs. Hence the low interest in such a thing.
Just my 2 cents, and as I said, just a guess.

Anyway, I wouldn't mind if there were close buttons as long as they can be disabled.
