[9.0b11] Installer starts automatically every system startup

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[9.0b11] Installer starts automatically every system startup

Post by *junpet »

Hey!

I've tried and installed almost every beta versions, but since I installed the [9.0b11], every time when I start my pc, the [9.0b11] installer pop up. I already deleted, wiped the installer, completely uninstalled TC and cleaned after, but somehow it appears in %temp% folder. I tried with ccleaner, I cant find the installer at startup programs. Please help me, it's really annoying, but I can't find a solution. I know it's maybe not a TC bug, but I don't know what should I do.

Doesn't sound like a virus to me, more like the installer or a link to it being in the Startup/Autostart folder.

Also there are a few keys:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
and so on ...
It's impossible to lead us astray for we don't care even to choose the way.

Next time, start Windows task manager,
- open Tab 'Processes'
- menu 'View' > 'Chose columns' > enable '[X] Command line'
- now find in name column the running installer
(or find it in Tab 'Applications', utilize the context menu and choose "Show Process")
- next see at 'Command line' from where this is started
(you can utilize the context menu and choose "open path")

Also you can try 'msConfig.exe' to see which Services and Processes are running.

I guess if you use Everything and delete every occurence of the installer it will never execute again, regardless of the way it starts.
