Powerpoint files not seen in beta 16
Hi,
I am not sure if this is a bug but it probably is. In the file view PPTX files (Office 365) are not seen as a file but as a folder. PPTX are compressed files but in Total Commander 8.52a they are show correctly. In Beta 16 they are seen as folders with all the contents inside the zipped file. If you click in the file it is not oppened. In the Windows explores they are sen correctly.
Thanks

Is beta 16 your first TC 9 beta?
I think it is not folder icon but archive icon which looks like folder icon (TC 9 uses system icons by default). However it is interesting why PPTX files have archive icon: perhaps you have associated some WCX plugin with PPTX extension, or it may be not archive icon but some other one.
You can disable Explorer icons in TC settings.

There is no problem with Powerpoint PPTX files for me with TC 9.0 b16 x64.
The icons are correctly shown
and they are opened with the associated application.
You can of course dig into the internal archive structure by using Ctrl-Page-Down.
So I guess you made some strange settings or plugin installation
which changes the behaviour.
Try using a fresh Wincmd.ini and see what happens

Yes, you must have installed a packer plugin which associates pptx with itself.

Hi,
Thanks for all your replies. Some comments regarding this issue:
1. I do not have any plugin installled
2. I have used all the beta versions since 9.x. I am not sure when this problem started
3. I have disabled show/default file folder icons form explorer
4. I have deleted wincmd.ini and restarted TC. I get the same behavior. I believed it could ve Windows 10 but explorer shows the files well.
No changes at all. Same issue. It also happens with word documents (*.docx files)

The file is no longer available.
TC shows these files (which are just renamed zip files) as archives when it cannot find any association of the file with a program.
What do you see when you put the cursor on the pptx file and choose files - associate - edit type?

Hi,
Thanks a lot for the replies. I apologize for the wrong link to the image. You are right that the problem is that these files have lost the association with PowerPoint after a Windows 10 upgrade. Files >> Associated with, does not show any program associated with the files. I will try to fix this and get back to you with the result.

I have attached the PPTX file to PP.exe in Files>>> Associated with. However I still see the same folder type and I cannot execute the files and open them automatically.
Thanks

Also after Windows upgrade in case of MS Office errors you may have to follow the way offered by Microsoft at first:
