Same phenomenon here this morning. Turned out our company proxy had cached the old whatsnew.htm page. Refresh in Firefox solved the issue, like suggested by petermad.

Sorry, it's a misfeature of the NGinx proxy which I'm using now to make the site load faster: It has set a lifetime of 1 month(!) for the pages. I have reduced that now to 6 hours for htm/html/txt, and 7 days for images.
