Find files: option "Current dir only" as default

Post by *uffe_K »

I would like this to be "Current dir only" all the time. Any way to do that? Currently I almost always turn it off.

LOADSEARCH saved_search_name "Current dir only" us

Post by *Stefan2 »

You can save the search settings and load that if wanted.

- clear all fields
- set "Current dir only"
- Save as "search_CurrDirOnly"

Next time you can just double click at "search_CurrDirOnly" to load that setting.

- - -

For your convenience:

Create a button

CMD= LOADSEARCH search_CurrDirOnly
PARAM=
ICON=%Commander_path%\WCMICONS.DLL

- - -

Also you can create a usercmd.ini User defined command
which you can use in turn as button command too
and additionally can assign a shortcut to that user-cmd, like Ctrl+F.

usercmd.ini
[em_search_CurrDirOnly]
CMD= LOADSEARCH search_CurrDirOnly
PARAM=

wincmd.ini
[Shortcuts]
C+F=em_search_CurrDirOnly

Neither of your suggestions offer what I want. They still require several clicks every time - doing a single click+double-click is not any better than 2 single clicks.

To Mr Ghisler: I want it to permanently start in Current Dir only. If it can be done in the INI file by setting a parameter, it would be nice.

uffe_K: I don't know how you actually start your search and how many clicks you need to press a single button.

Stefan2 gave 3 possible solutions:
1. A simple load search : 2 clicks and a doubleclick
2. A button: a single click
3. A keyboard shortcut: Single 2 finger press
