Tab stops not adjusting to window size when moving divider

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Tab stops not adjusting to window size when moving divider

Post by *KGassner »

Using TC 9.0a

In Settings/Display/Tabstops "Adjust Tabs to window width is checked".

Changing window size by different means gives the following results:
- dragging lower right corner -> tabs adjust
- make window full screen -> tabs adjust
- change layout to vertical -> tabs adjust
- move divider -> tabs remain unchanged

Reproducible: Always

This isn't a bug. The tabs are always the same width for the left and the right panel.

I see. This makes perfect sense if both windows are visible.

In my case I set the divider to 100%. Only one window is visible, the other is completely gone. The columns only use the previous space, the right half of the window is empty and unused.

In the case of a 100% divider it would make a lot of sense to adjust the columns to use the full window.

So I guess it is not a bug, but rather a feature request.

You can switch to vertical arrangement (2 panels above each other with 100%), then the tabs will be adjusted to the full width.
